The first step is to apply heat to the screen in order to loosen the adhesive holding the screen to the housing. You can do this with a heat gun or simply with a hairdryer but make sure not apply too much heat.

Next you are going to pry the screen away from the housing of the device. Begin on the right hand side of the screen and work your way around the screen switching between applying heat and prying away the screen. The ribbon runs close to the top and the both of the screen so be careful with how far you pry under the screen at those ends.

Once your screen is away from the housing there will be a elastic layer of glue that you can simply pull away from your housing so that when it comes to glueing your new screen down you can create a more full seal.

You now will remove the shield which is held in place with its three screws.

Simply pry away the ribbon that connects the screen from the board.

Attach your replacement Fitbit Charge 5 screen by pressing down its ribbon into place.
7.
Re-inset the metal shield and secure it with it's three screws.
8.
Apply glue to the flat surface of the housing where your screen will sit.
9.
Wipe away any glue that's escaped from your device.
10.
Finally, to secure you screen to your device, you can wrap your device with elastic bands or clap with a vice and then leave it set for the next 24 hours.
